It is roughly 14 days 19 hours 46 minutes and 10 seconds until I leave Minneapolis on my voyage to Colombia (Not that I am counting or anything). For the first 4~ days I will orientating in Bogota until I fly to the city of Barranquilla on the Caribbean coast. I will be living there for 10 months, working as an English Teaching Assistant at la Universidad del Norte. In addition, I am hoping to work with people who have been displaced by the civil conflict through a non-governmental organization. I also hope to eat lots of awesome fruit and become a paragon of dancing excellence. One of those may be achievable.

At present, I am living in the thrilling metropolis of New Ulm, Minnesota. It is difficult to not be overwhelmed by the amount of activities and events going on here, but I am doing my best to find some downtime. All jests aside, I have loved the opportunity to read for enjoyment again (post-college bonus). I have been tearing through books and have managed to see many of my good friends this summer. Overall, I would mark it as successful thus far.

It is pretty wild to think I am leaving so soon and that I won’t be back for quite a while. As much as I mock it, I love the Midwest and New Ulm is a pretty darn nice place to live (I may miss Target most of all [just kidding beloved family and friends!]). I am hoping to use this blog more consistently than last time to update folks on my life, work and travels. I am also planning to take some fancy pictures and post some premium videos of la vida colombiana. I will probably post later with some closing America thoughts, but I think this will suffice for now.
